Following on from the success of our 2013 HOPEWALK in memory of Ben Fitchett who died by suicide at the age of 14, we are planning another High Crompton HOPEWALK 2018 on Sunday 7th October 2018.
The HOPEWALK raises money for PAPYRUS, a national charity for the prevention of young suicides. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK and 4 people die by suicide per day - shocking statistics. PAPYRUS believe that many suicides are preventable. PAPYRUS operate HOPELINE UK, a confidential call, text and email helpline for young people with thoughts of suicide or those concerned about a young person who may have thoughts of suicide. Every £5 raised can help pay for a potentially life-saving contact to HOPELINE UK from a young person wanting to stay safe from their thoughts of suicide.
Join the walk for fellowship and friendship, to raise awareness of suicide, to smash the stigma associated with suicide and to raise money for HOPELINE UK.
